Review:
The opening of this story is attention-grabbing. It was plain and simple as Quinn running late for her sister’s baby shower, however, the writing is so good, not only could I imagine every scene, but a lot was said without being said. Needless to say, I was hooked.
Readers find out from the beginning that Simon is crazy about Quinn, but the depth of her feelings for him are unknown, especially since she’s getting married to someone else. Although his family is aware of Simon’s feelings, they never call him out, that is until Hannah spills, thinking Quinn already knows.
The sexual tension between the two is blinding. Things quickly became intense between them, and the exchanges were fully charged without igniting – until the kiss. Oh, the kiss.
But later on, the north winds began to stir, and for a moment, my feelings for Quinn’s character turned a little south. She was very loveable and all, but her indecisiveness went from being understood, to plain and simply working my nerves. It was obvious she wanted Simon…bad…but she refused to go with it. At first I was ok with this. It was the way it should’ve been considering she was engaged, but after a while, I grew tired of the game, and for a moment, I wanted Simon to let her go. I felt like the union was stalled too long, simply for the sake of garnering excitement in the reader. I’m all for this – I need this- up to a point, that is. And my point eventually dulled.
But then the wind picked up and shifted direction, and my feelings headed north again. I wanted them together, and I couldn’t wait for their union. The tornado scenes were exciting. I felt the wind and heard the roar. Kudos to Lovelace!
The characters are well developed, the dialogue beyond entertaining, and the descriptions vivid. This was a great read!
Rating system: The less the better.
0: You won’t need any coffee to stay up for this one. It’s intriguing enough all on its own.
1: You’ll stay up late, but not all night. Brew one cup.
2: You’ll read as long as you’re not tired. If you are, two cups should do the trick.
3: I hope you got plenty of rest; you’ll need it, or at least 3 cups.
4: If the cable goes out, read the book. It’s better than nothing, I guess. Oh, don’t forget your brew!
5: Find anything else to do- it doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t waste your coffee. Too much caffeine is bad for you.

You’re welcome! The action in this book was really good. I wish the heroine had behaved better, but it was still a good read. I look forward to reading more in the series. I like the other characters, and by the end I warmed up to Quinn, too. But I really want to read about Eli.
