The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor #3
By: Melissa Foster
Releasing April 20, 2016
World Literary Press
Fall in love with Sam Braden in the Bradens of Peaceful Harbor. Hot, sexy, & wickedly naughty second cousins to the Weston, Colorado Bradens we know and love.
River rafting and adventure company owner Sam Braden works hard and plays harder. He’s fast, focused, and determined—and never at a loss for a willing woman to share his time with.
The trouble is, the only woman he wants refuses him at every turn.
Physician assistant Faith Hayes escaped her painful past and built a safe, happy life in Peaceful Harbor. She’s also put what she’s learned to good use helping others by founding Women
Against Cheaters, an online support group. When her boss’s sinfully sexy brother sets his sights on sweet Faith, she knows the self-professed player is everything she shouldn’t want, and she’s
determined to resist him.
Sam pulls out all the stops, proving to Faith that his past doesn’t have to define his future. As she lets down her guard and begins to trust Sam, intense conversations turn to intimate
pleasures. But when real life steps in and their pasts collide, it’s Faith who’s left with something to prove.
Review:
Foster is one of my favorite authors, and this book just added to the reasons why!
This seductive contemporary is smoldering, playful, and just plain delicious!
Sam is perhaps the most honest playboy I’ve ever read about. It makes it hard to judge him for his risqué ways. He melted my heart right along with Faith’s. He’s strong and determined, and oh, so chivalrous. He should definitely be the spokesperson for hot heroes!
I understood Faith’s reluctance, and I was anxious to see how Sam would change her mind. She had doubts, but her attraction to him was so strong, she eventually gave in; but she maintained her stance on not becoming just another notch in his bedpost. She took things slow – in book time 🙂 – and I was pleased with the way the relationship unfolded. There were moments of doubt, but she was open-minded and willing to give them a chance. The characters are relatable; their reactions believable. Although he was not ashamed of his past, he knew he had to prove himself because of his past. The sexual tension was thick enough to set off a fog horn, and I was delighted in not only the relationship development, but the characters’ development. Faith learned to trust, and Sam learned to love. My heart was full for both of them, and I didn’t want the story to end.
Sam’s relationships with his siblings were playful, yet supportive and loyal, just like Faith’s relationship with her sister Charley and best friend, Vivian. I was drawn into the lives of the secondary characters as well. I want to know what’s going to happen with Lira, Ty, and Vivian. The WAC was a nice touch, and I could see more stories developing from the members.
All-in-all, Fostered delivered once again!
0: You won’t need any coffee to stay up for this one. It’s intriguing enough all on its own.
1: You’ll stay up late, but not all night. Brew one cup.
2: You’ll read as long as you’re not tired. If you are, two cups should do the trick.
3: I hope you got plenty of rest; you’ll need it, or at least 3 cups.
4: If the cable goes out, read the book. It’s better than nothing, I guess. Oh, don’t forget your brew!
5: Find anything else to do- it doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t waste your coffee. Too much caffeine is bad for you.
