What a delicious series! I was hooked long ago, and oh what joy I felt when I first received this. I had been wanting to find out what was going on between Colt and Luna, and boy did Ryan deliver!

Colt and Luna shared a kiss that rocked them both to the core. The problem? She used to date his good friend…now a former friend (not because of the kiss, however). They’d avoided each other for months, but we all knew that wouldn’t last.

When Luna is bequeathed the ranch of a good friend and former patron of the restaurant where she works, she becomes the target of his selfish family’s schemes. They are pissed that she has been given what’s “rightfully” theirs, despite the fact that they took no interest in running the place when their father/brother-in-law was alive. He’d warned his sons about their behavior, but instead of taking heed they continued on with the selfish ways; and as a result Luna became the owner of the largest ranch in town. She has a full staff on-hand, but she has things to learn as owner, and what better person to help her than handsome ranch owner Colt who is also the brother of her best friend’s husband? BTW, I loved Rory and Sadie’s story :).

Now, as I was typing…

I love their carefree, flirtatious behavior. They are both responsible, but that doesn’t take away from their love of life and ability to enjoy themselves. I love their straightforwardness and the way they take care of each other. They are both strong. They value each other’s opinions and neither tries to control or outdo the other. Their lives blended together effortlessly, and the whole relationship development was completely natural, easygoing, and fun. They are the perfect match.

As with previous books in the series, there’s some suspense and action. There were enough suspects to keep me guessing and I wasn’t sure who was doing what. Wayne’s (the friend who left Luna the ranch) family needs all their butts whipped, and I so wish I was the one who could’ve done it. I have to say, the scene at the lawyer’s office made me giggle out loud. Colt’s such an alpha male. I was so crushing on him.

I am a total fan of Ryan and her writing style. She is a whiz with dialogue, and a pro at giving just enough narrative and backstory. I may just start my own chapter of a fan club. Kudos and more Kudos!!

Bring on Ford’s story!

Rating system: Cups of Coffee (the less the better)

0: You won’t need any coffee to stay up for this one. It’s intriguing enough all on its own.
1: You’ll stay up late, but not all night. Brew one cup.
2: You’ll read as long as you’re not tired. If you are, two cups should do the trick.
3: I hope you got plenty of rest; you’ll need it, or at least 3 cups.
4: If the cable goes out, read the book. It’s better than nothing, I guess. Oh, don’t forget your brew!
5: Find anything else to do- it doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t waste your coffee. Too much caffeine is bad for you.

My rating: 0 cups of coffee

“You drive me crazy.”

She didn’t even hide her smile. “Why?”

“Because all I want to do is kiss you.”

“More things we agree on.” She placed her hand on the back of his neck, went up on tiptoe, and brushed her lips over his. Like a match swiped across the rough edge of the box, a fire lit inside of them. Colt’s arms banded around her. One big hand held her lower back. He planted the other right on her ass, his long fingers lay over the curve, inches from the tingling heat building between her legs. He pulled her closer and took the kiss deeper. His tongue glided along hers. She moaned. He growled, titled his head for a better angle, and kissed her socks off.

Luna lost herself in Colt’s arms. The first kiss they shared rocked her world off center and left her wondering if what she felt that night in the parking lot was real or just her imagination. Not only was the passion and need real, something opened inside her and everything within her settled.

God, the man could kiss.
