Blurb:

Nellie needed the job, she really did, but she just couldn’t seem to get it together for the interview. It was one of those days where everything went wrong, and spilling coffee on gorgeous strangers on her way to the interview was just part and parcel with the kind of luck she was having. Ryker needed to hire the best person for the job, even if that best person had just covered him with coffee and had the kind of luscious curves that featured in every wet dream he had ever had. She was perfect for the ad agency he owned, but he suspected she would be just as perfect for his bedroom. But that was unethical, right? Nellie and Ryker navigate the world of office relationships in this light hearted romance filled with steamy scenes and humor.

Review:

There’s a lot of story packed in the few pages of this novella, and I’m glad to have read each and every word!

Nellie is not a stick-thin model, nor does she desire to be. Despite comments about her full-figure, she’s happy with who she is.

Ryker is attracted to Nellie from the moment he sees her. He knows it’s a bad idea to hire her; but she’s well-qualified, and he doesn’t want to lose her to the competition.

Decision made.

Now the only thing they both had to do was control their attraction to each other. Being professionals, that should’ve been easy enough right?

Wrong.

When a snow day gives them the opportunity to hang out outside of work, they realize they have a lot more in common than their jobs and physical attraction. Heart strings are tugged, sheets are rumbled, minds are changed.

I love both Nellie and Ryker, and I adore them together. I felt the connection, which is a really hard thing for me when a story is a short as this one. The writing is expert; the dialogue superb. I loved the flow, and although it’s a quick read, it didn’t seem rushed. It’s very easy to imagine each scene, and I was really sad when it ended. This is the first novella I’ve ever read that made me wish for a sequel. I’m actually hoping this is the beginnig of a novella series. Ryker is all sexy alpha male and Nellie is self-confident and laid-back without a hint of arrogance. She’s a klutz and that makes her as believable as she is adorable. Kudos to Wiley for these characters!

I hope I get to read about a love connectin for Granger. (hint to Wiley 🙂 )

I’ve most definitely added Wiley to my list of authors to follow.

Rating system: Cups of Coffee (the less the better)

0: You won’t need any coffee to stay up for this one. It’s intriguing enough all on its own.
1: You’ll stay up late, but not all night. Brew one cup.
2: You’ll read as long as you’re not tired. If you are, two cups should do the trick.
3: I hope you got plenty of rest; you’ll need it, or at least 3 cups.
4: If the cable goes out, read the book. It’s better than nothing, I guess. Oh, don’t forget your brew!
5: Find anything else to do- it doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t waste your coffee. Too much caffeine is bad for you.

My rating: 0 cups of coffee
