First I’d like to say that I still love Ben. He’s charming, handsome, and talented. I could clearly picture him, and this was a great accomplishment for the author. I still felt more connected to him than I did Jaime, but I liked her character as well, even we she got confused and irritated me. As annoying as her confusion was, it made her human.

I wish Ben had been a little tougher on her towards the end. I thought the author made him a little too understanding about the conflict. Jaime should have had to fight a little harder to fix things. It was kinda disappointing the way Ben handled the situation. Of course it was understood that they would eventually reconcile; after all, it’s a romance. HEA or HFN is a must. But I still like the point where we, as readers, are supposed to be unsure about how things would work out.

In the end, I think my theory was correct. This was one novel, broken up into three. Cliffhanging chapters would’ve been just as effective, if not more so. All in all, the story was pretty decent, the writing ok, and the characters were lovable – except for Daniel. I still don’t know why his character was created.

I can’t say this book would pop into my head if someone asked me to make a suggestion for a good read. However, if someone mentioned it to me by name, I’d wouldn’t say not to read it.

Rating system: Cups of coffee – the less the better

0: You won’t need any coffee to stay up for this one. It’s intriguing enough all on its own.
1: You’ll stay up late, but not all night. Brew one cup.
2: You’ll read as long as you’re not tired. If you are, two cups should do the trick.
3: I hope you got plenty of rest; you’ll need it, or at least 3 cups.
4: If the cable goes out, read the book. It’s better than nothing, I guess. Oh, don’t forget your brew!
5: Find anything else to do- doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t waste your coffee. Too much caffeine is bad for you.

For Book III: 2 cups of coffee
For the story as a whole: 2 1/2 cups.
