Book Review: Kellen’s Hope by Danie Marie

kellens hope

Kellen’s Hope by Danie Marie is the heart-grabbing story of Kellen Bruce whose husband, Donny, dies during the early stages of her pregnancy leaving her on her own to care for their unborn child. Racked with grief, she must also endure separation from her parents who never approved of her relationship with Donny. Aided by the love and support of her friends, she finds the strength to live on and to try to find some happiness in her life.

Although I normally read more heated romances, I found Kellen’s Hope to be a truly inspirational story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. For a moment I found myself torn between the two men vying for her affection, but in the end there was no question about who she needed to end up with. I found the twists and turns to be a nice surprise and the characters very relatable. I have to say Marla, with her quirky vocabulary and fun-loving attitude is my favorite.

It’s a sweet inspirational romance truly worthy of the time it took to publish it.

Rating system: Cups of coffee – the less the better

0: You won’t need any coffee to stay up for this one. It’s intriguing enough all on its own.
1: You’ll stay up late, but not all night. Brew one cup.
2: You’ll read as long as you’re not tired. If you are, two cups should do the trick.
3: I hope you got plenty of rest, you’ll need it, or at least 3 cups.
4: If the cable goes out, read the book. It’s better than nothing, I guess. Oh, don’t forget your brew!
5: Find anything else to do- doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t waste your coffee. Too much caffeine is bad for you.

My rating: 1 cup of coffee

Be sure to watch out for Danie Marie’s upcoming novel Where Darkness Dwells.
