A scintillating suspense with one of the most seductive cute meets I’ve ever read. I was captivated by the essence of it all, and I couldn’t wait for the characters to meet again, and see how their story would unfold.
Brandon is one it’s-almost-a-shame-to-be-so-sexy hero whose suave demeanor and strength made him the ultimate in attractiveness. Cara is strong, yet feminine, and I admired her desire to stay independent while learning to enjoy her life. The suspense drew me in, and I was happy to find out that I hadn’t had if all figured out like I thought. I like surprises, and this book definitely houses one. Part of the revelation was somewhat strange, but not the I-had-to-roll-my-eyes-and-figure-out-what-the-author-could’ve-been-thinking-strange, but a good strange. It’s good to be different, and DePaul was original when it came to the climax – the part that explained the motivations of the villain. I must give her Kudos!
unfortunately, the story falls short on relationship development.
Rating system: Cups of coffee – the less the better
0: You won’t need any coffee to stay up for this one. It’s intriguing enough all on its own.
1: You’ll stay up late, but not all night. Brew one cup.
2: You’ll read as long as you’re not tired. If you are, two cups should do the trick.
3: I hope you got plenty of rest; you’ll need it, or at least 3 cups.
4: If the cable goes out, read the book. It’s better than nothing, I guess. Oh, don’t forget your brew!
5: Find anything else to do- it doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t waste your coffee. Too much caffeine is bad for you.
My rating: 2 cups of coffee
