There’s Nothing Better than TRUE LOVE

As usual, Jude Deveraux WOWED me with her words!

When someone says true love, it’s usually in the reference of romance. But this book has true love on all levels.

Of course the love between Alix and Jared is the main focus of the story, but it graciously allows room for other relationships.

Alix unconditionally loves both her parents. Although initially it seems as if she has a stronger relationship with her father, her connection to her mother grows as the story unfolds. Alix’s and her best friend Izzy’s closeness and dedication to each other is inspiring. They’re more like sisters and they’re very loyal to each other.

And then there is Caleb…

The way grandpa ghost is presented in the story is simply marvelous. I never felt like I was reading about a ghost. Although there was some paranormal ways about him, in some ways he was just as “real” as the other characters. Jude did an expert job balancing his abilities with his limits. The interaction between him and Jared is typical grandfather/grandson instead of it being overrun by grandpa’s heavenly traits.

I must admit, I was a little worried about grandpa and how his story would end, but in her typical fashion, Jude didn’t disappoint!

Rating system: Cups of coffee – the less the better

0: You won’t need any coffee to stay up for this one. It’s intriguing enough all on its own.
1: You’ll stay up late, but not all night. Brew one cup.
2: You’ll read as long as you’re not tired. If you are, two cups should do the trick.
3: I hope you got plenty of rest, you’ll need it, or at least 3 cups.
4: If the cable goes out, read the book. It’s better than nothing, I guess. Oh, don’t forget your brew!
5: Find anything else to do- doesn’t matter what it is. Don’t waste your coffee. Too much caffeine is bad for you.

My rating: 1 cup of coffee
